Portrait of Kashmir
‘Portrait of Kashmir’ is part of a series dedicated to Kashmir’s artisans, uncovering human stories behind its landscapes and crafts. This image features a copper artisan, known as a Kandkari' worker in Kashmir. The lines etched on his face tell the story of the land’s time and geography. They reflect the flow of the Jhelum and are colored by the hues of the Chinar. His portrait is a testament to the enduring connection between Kashmir’s landscapes, its people, and their rich heritage.
