City Birds
In City Birds, I use a mixed-methods approach to explore how urban residents respond, adapt, and transform their surroundings. I examine the symbiotic relationships between Mumbai's two most ubiquitous inhabitants: humans and pigeons. For both, the city offers a promise of shelter and livelihood. Over the years, I've noticed similarities between both as they traverse and navigate the city. Harbouring an impossible utopian quest, our body language and mannerisms have also come to resemble one another, as if the city has an effect on us, shaping and moulding us irrespectively and impartially.
