Umah Jacob

Umah Jacob is the Director of External Relations & Outreach at India Art Fair, where she maintains responsibility for overseeing all aspects of the fair’s renowned Collectors’ and Outreach Programmes, building links with art institutions, museum groups, and individual collectors, both in India and internationally. She also heads programming and audience engagement across the fair and through the year and is keenly interested in highlighting and showcasing the freshest of South Asian talent on a global platform. Umah conceived the fair’s hugely successful Young Collectors Programme, encouraging the next generation of artists and patrons in the region to engage with each other and grow this burgeoning community.

Previously, she has been associated with the Modern and Contemporary South Asian departments at auction houses in India and the UK. She has worked at Bonhams and Christie’s in London and was the former Sales Coordinator for Christie’s in Mumbai, as part of the team that worked to establish their first auctions in India. Umah earned a Bachelor’s degree from St. Xavier’s College, University of Mumbai, before going on to read her MA in History of Art and Archaeology at the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London.
