ABOUT THE WORKSHOP
How can we speak about home? Using photographs and text we will be looking at how to tell personal stories about what home means to us. What do we value?
How can we appreciate some of the ordinary things? What is the meaning of home for someone who doesn’t have a roof over their head?
Can home be more than just a space?
How can photography speak effectively and emotionally about home and displacement?

WORKSHOP CONTENT AND PROGRAM
Day 1
- The workshop will begin with a guided tour of the exhibition 'Putting Ourselves in the Picture' by Anna Fox & the Fast Forward Collective at the Lalit Kala Akademi that explores how a group of migrant and refugee women have used photography through a series of workshops, to tell their stories about the idea of home.
- Participants need to share a photograph of the main room that they live in prior to the workshop. This photograph will be a starting point to tell a story about their idea of home.
- This photograph will expand your storytelling skills further to incorporate newer perspectives at the everyday environment around you.
- Each participant is expected to make more images in connection to their story and bring small prints for the next session.
Day 2
- Participants will work with Anna for a sequencing and edit session
- Anna Fox will take the participants through an introduction of designing the work as a zine.
- Each participant will be given the PDF of the zine that they can print at a nearby printing shop at their own expense - to have a copy of their own.
