Graphic Designer - Full Time (CLOSED)
Duration: Minimum 2 years commitment
Location: CPB Lighthouse, Kottivakkam, Chennai
Salary: Rs 25,000 and upwards per month based on experience
Qualifications:
- Graduation or Diploma in Graphic Design or related design field
- 2-3 years experience working in a firm, agency or professional freelance practice
- Complete working knowledge of Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign
- Self-motivated with experience working in teams
- The ability to draw, sketch, and illustrate is preferred but not mandatory
THE ROLE:
You will be a part of the creative team of the CPB Foundation and will work closely with co-founders in shaping the visual presence of the foundation across its many verticals and channels. Over the next two years, we are looking to expand on two fronts related to design - print publications and interactive products that mesh photography, learning and fun.
We are looking for a talented designer who is looking for a challenge and is interested in shaping the future of CPB's visual identity.
You will be required to:
Familiarise yourself with the design languages of the 5 CPB wings - the Biennale, CPBx, CPB Learning Lab, CPB Lighthouse and CPB Prism.
Be fluent in written and spoken English and Tamil
Work on the day-to-day graphic design needs of the organisation
Work on the website updates and social media posts
Preferably have Tamil typing capacity
Bring forward innovative design ideas
Work on social media design + video/animation (if proficient)
Work on merchandise design and photo-based product design from time to time for the CPB online shop
Adhere to timelines, be responsive to the team and manage deliverables within agreed deadlines. We welcome you to suggest any systems of briefing and deliverables that work for you.
Report regularly and effectively to senior team members. You will also be working cohesively with the rest of the team as and when.
Be able to work with Google Suite - docs, sheets, and slides to manage projects.
Work towards evolving the design language and indulge in design research and ideas that could benefit the Foundation.
Be flexible with creative thought processes, output and feedback.
Organise your work files and comms in a systematic manner.
Gain more knowledge about the work and the photography community locally and internationally by reading up and making use of our photobook collection in the library!
Timings & Location
You are expected to work from the CPB Foundation office in Kottivakkam. Regular Working hours & days: Monday to Saturday - 10 AM to 7 PM (weekends are dependent on programming schedules and deadlines). Any working Sunday can be compensated with leave during the coming week(s) with prior consultation of your reporting manager.
Your availability will be required beyond the regular hours for certain projects.
Benefits over and above the salary
- You are eligible for health insurance, after the probation period, as an employee of the CPB Foundation.
- You are entitled to up to Rs. 5000 towards external training course fees (You can let us know which training you’d like to attend and we will reimburse you for it).
Probation and Termination
Probation: A period of 3 months will be considered as a probation period in which both parties can terminate with a 3-week notice.
