We are seeking a talented and passionate photographer to document and capture the essence of the Biennale. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, experience shooting events, and the ability to creatively highlight installations, talks, workshops, performances and audience interactions. Key Responsibilities

  • Exhibition Documentation:

    • Capture high-quality images of photography exhibitions, installations, and curatorial setups across various venues, ensuring accurate representation of the works.

    • Photograph gallery spaces, lighting arrangements, and spatial interactions between artworks and the audience.

  • Event and Workshop Coverage:

    • Document official openings, talks, workshops, and panel discussions, including key speakers, artists, and curators.

    • Capture both posed and candid moments that reflect the energy, creativity, and collaborative spirit of the event.

  • Artist and Guest Portraits:

    • Take portraits of participating artists, curators, and special guests for press, promotional, and archival purposes.

  • Audience Engagement:

    • Photograph interactions between visitors and exhibitions, capturing reactions and moments that convey the impact of the biennale.

  • Venue and Ambience Shots:

    • Capture the unique character of each venue, including architecture, signage, and the overall festival atmosphere.

  • Post-Processing and Delivery:

    • Edit and retouch photographs to meet high-quality standards for various platforms (social media, web, print).

    • Deliver organized photo sets on time for daily publications, press releases, and event archives.

  • Collaboration:

    • Work closely with the production and programming team, curators, artists, and event staff to align with the biennale’s visual storytelling goals.

    • Coordinate with the design and media team to ensure photos are available for immediate use in publications and social media.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Proven Experience:

    • 1-2 years of experience in event, cultural, or documentary photography. Experience with art biennales, exhibitions, or large-scale events is preferred.

  • Technical Proficiency:

    • Expertise in using professional camera equipment (DSLR or mirrorless) and editing software (Lightroom, Photoshop, etc.).

    • Understanding of natural and artificial lighting techniques, especially for indoor exhibitions and installations.

  • Attention to Detail:

    • Ability to capture subtle artistic elements, textures, and color accuracy while documenting artworks.

  • Adaptability:

    • Comfortable working in dynamic environments with tight schedules, varying lighting conditions, and multiple locations.

  • Communication Skills:

    • Ability to interact with artists, curators, and event organizers while maintaining professionalism.

  • Time Management:

    • Capable of managing multiple shoots and delivering high-quality images under strict deadlines.

  • Portfolio:

    • A strong portfolio showcasing relevant experience, including event photography, art documentation, and portrait work.

Additional Requirements

  • Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and all weekends, throughout the duration of the biennale.

  • Ability to travel between multiple venues as required.

  • Own photography equipment (cameras, lenses, lighting gear, etc.) and a laptop for quick on-site editing.

  • Familiarity with copyright, consent, and image usage policies for photographing artworks and audiences.

Timings: Monday to Saturday -  10am to 7pm 

Duration: 4 months

REMUNERATION: Rs. 15,000 per month for 4 months
