Photography Summer Camp with CPB Prism

For the first time in a long time, there is a sense of excitement around the summer holidays as we step out of our homes, free from arduous school days. We’ll have the opportunity to reconnect with old friends, take time out for hobbies, and rediscover familiar scenes anew — our favorite hangout spots, bustling market streets, or cozy nooks and crannies of our neighborhoods.

To walk with you on this journey of rediscovery, we're back with our annual photography summer camp! Through photography workshops and photo-walks conducted across the city, we’ll relearn the art of looking. Participants will be taught the basics of photography, and practice everything they learn via photo-walks and photography assignments. Join us in learning to observe, appreciate and capture our surroundings by making photographs.

Apart from introducing the basics of photography, the program will include:

  • Activities from Peer Ponder Play, an art activity book for children - Students will participate in activities involving discovering and creating art, sculpture, and photographs, and learn to connect and communicate with each other through drawing, storytelling, writing, photography and more.

  • Exploring the magic of Cyanotype Printmaking - Cyanotype printing, which involves developing prints by exposing light-sensitive material to the sun, is one of the most accessible alternative photographic processes. Working with your hands and using simple chemistry, sunlight and tap water, children will be able to express themselves in shades of blue.

  • Photo-walks and Exhibition - In small groups, children will be guided to take photographs of their city on photo-walks. These photographs will be curated and exhibited as part of an exhibition at  the end of the camp.

It is not compulsory for participants to bring their own cameras. Each participant will be assigned an iPhone for the duration of the camp.
