Tamil Nadu Government M.G.R. Film and Television Institute

M.G.R. Government Film and Television Institute is one of the Premier Film Institutes in India functioning under the Department of Information and Public Relations. The Diplomas are awarded by the Department of Technical Education, Government of Tamil Nadu.
Started in 1945 as a part of the Central Polytechnic, this Institute grew into a specialised Institute in 1959 namely Institute of Film Technology. This Institute was renamed as Film and Television Institute of Tamil Nadu. As Salutation to the greatest Movie Icon of Tamil Cinema Thiru M.G.R., this Institute is proud of its present name M.G.R. Government Film and Television Institute.
Having completed above 50 years of service, this institute has played a vital role towards the Development of Film and Television Industry not only in Tamil Nadu but also at the National level by contributing highly qualified Professional Expertise.
Keeping with the evolution of Film and Television Technology the students are imparted training in the "State-of-the-art!" infrastructure.
