Gareth Wyn Owen, Wales

The seed of the series Make Me Up is a self-portrait, but the resulting images in the series are the product of collaborations across continents and communities. The project has used a filter-based approach and references an online community that converges on Fiverr.

Born and raised in Wales, with periods in Liverpool, London and Athens before returning to Wales in 2000. Lives and works in Cardiff.

Works often draw on images from magazines and the internet, sometimes with accompanying text. Common themes in the work include identity and consumerism.

Work has been shown in print in Art on a Postcard, Espy Photo Award (shortlist), CCQ Magazine, and Hant Magazin Für Fotografie.

Work has been shown online at Der Greif and Photomonitor.

Formerly involved at Third Floor Gallery (trustee) and established Other Spaces Gallery, a pop-up exhibition platform for public exhibitions, which showed work by Erwin Wurm and Hans Van Der Meer.
