The Chennai Photo Biennale is seeking a talented and creative Social Media Graphic Designer to develop engaging and visually striking content across digital platforms. The ideal candidate will be passionate about art and photography, with expertise in crafting eye-catching graphics and digital assets that align with the festival’s theme, branding, and messaging. This role will involve close collaboration with the marketing and creative teams to enhance the festival’s presence on social media and engage a wide audience.
Key Responsibilities
Content Creation for Social Media:
Design high-quality graphics, posters, banners, and visuals for platforms like Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn.
Create event announcements, artist highlights, exhibition teasers, daily updates, and post-event wrap-ups.
Develop visually appealing layouts for Instagram carousels, stories, reels covers, and feed posts.
Branding and Visual Consistency:
Ensure all designs are consistent with the Chennai Photo Biennale’s branding, tone, and theme.
Adapt the festival’s brand guidelines into creative assets while maintaining a fresh and engaging style.
Campaign Support:
Assist the marketing team in creating graphics for email newsletters, website banners, and press releases.
Design promotional materials for workshops, panel discussions, and artist talks.
Video and Motion Graphics:
Create short animated content (GIFs or motion graphics) to enhance social media engagement.
Collaborate with the videography team to design overlays, video thumbnails, and graphics for social media videos.
Collaborative Workflow:
Work closely with the marketing and communications team to ensure the timely release of content during the festival.
Coordinate with curators and artists to integrate artwork images into promotional designs.
Trend Monitoring and Innovation:
Stay up-to-date with the latest design trends and social media best practices to keep content fresh and engaging
Brainstorm creative ideas for visual campaigns that highlight the essence of the biennale
Skills and Qualifications
Proven Experience:
1-2 years of experience as a graphic designer, preferably in art, photography, or cultural events.
A strong portfolio showcasing previous work in social media content creation and branding.
Design Proficiency:
Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
Expertise in Canva and editing apps.
Motion Graphics Skills:
Basic knowledge of After Effects or other animation tools to create motion graphics and GIFs is preferred.
Social Media Understanding:
Familiarity with the specific design requirements for platforms like Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn.
Understanding of audience engagement strategies through design and visual storytelling.
Time Management:
Ability to work under tight deadlines, especially during the festival period, with quick turnarounds.
Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
Collaborative Skills:
Comfortable working in a team and taking feedback to refine designs.
Additional Requirements
Availability to work flexible hours, especially during peak festival days.
Interest in art, photography, and cultural events is highly desirable.

Timings: Monday to Saturday, 10am to 7pm
Duration: 5 months REMUNERATION
